<p>Unit: School Of Medicine MBU</p> <p>Department: Pathology</p> <p>Department Summary: The Department of Pathology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine is passionately committed to advancing the frontiers of medicine through excellence in education, innovative research, and exceptional clinical care. Our department plays a vital role in understanding and diagnosing disease through cutting-edge technologies and interdisciplinary expertise, we aim to uncover the mechanisms of disease, contribute to groundbreaking discoveries, and translate scientific insights into tangible clinical applications. The Department of Pathology also thrives on collaboration through our strong partnerships with the Massey Cancer Center, VCU Health System, and other research and clinical institutes across the university, we are uniquely positioned to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and real-world impact.</p> <p>Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for coordinating clinical research activities in a compliant and efficient manner from study. </li><li>Research and Clinical Trial Coordination/Study Conduct. </li><li>Independently coordinate study recruitment activities. </li><li>Manage systems to identify potential study participants. </li><li>Conduct and document the initial and ongoing informed consent. </li><li>Database management skills including the ability to create and query reports. </li></ul> <p>This is a restricted, grant-funded position with no set end date. Continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated experience working in an academic medical, healthcare environment working for multiple managers or a senior administrator, or equivalent </li><li>Independent judgment and critical thinking skills </li><li>Discretionary decision making skills </li><li>Ability to multitask and prioritize autonomously </li><li>Excellent written & oral communications skills </li><li>Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment and adapt to changing client status, regulations and work environment </li><li>Detail oriented organizational skills </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology </li><li>Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as an hourly employee at VCU. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and or an equivalent combination of training & experience. At least one year of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range: Commensurate with experience</p> <p>Benefits: All VCU employee types are eligible for a wide array of benefits to support you during your employment at VCU.
