<p>The College of Education (COE) at Gardner-Webb University seeks a strong candidate for a tenure-track faculty position teaching curriculum and instruction in Exceptional Children's/special education. The 9-month tenure-track position will start on August 1, 2025.</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>An earned doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction with a specialty in Special Education/Exceptional Children/ or a related field and a strong record of scholarly research and/or K-12 leadership experience </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of school district-level special education, exceptional child, reading, and literacy practices </li><li>Served in public K-12 setting </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A research/scholarship portfolio in K-12 curriculum and instruction, reading, literacy, academically gifted or related K-12 experience </li><li>Science of Reading Certification or eligibility for the Science of Reading Certificate </li><li>Experience with online and hybrid teaching and course development </li><li>Experience with university teaching </li><li>Served in public K-12 leadership roles as a school or central office personnel </li></ul> <p>Teaching, Research, and Service Assignments</p> <ul> <li>Teach 12 credit hours per semester </li><li>Teach exceptional children's courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels </li><li>Provide service to the College of Education, University, community, and academic profession </li><li>Supervise student teachers </li><li>Conduct research and scholarly activities to enhance the COE academic climate </li></ul> <p>Other Information</p> <ul> <li>Review of complete employment applications begins as soon as they are received.
