Landis (SKL) building, and the TCHS-Pickering location. As such this position is responsible for the efficient, budget conscious operation of food service programs, coordination of day-to-day food service operation, and organization and production as needed and in accordance with the National School Lunch Program/the Child and Adult Care Food Program (NSLP/CACFP), and the Pennsylvania Department of Education/U.S. Department of Agriculture (PDE/USDA) guidelines.</p> <p>In addition, this position will assist the Food Service Manager in the organization and development of the food services program, and will serve as back up to the Food Services Manager as identified in this description.</p> <p>The base schedule for this position is 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. but may change to accommodate the needs of the organization.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education and Experience</p> </li><li> <p>High School diploma required.</p> </li><li> <p>One of the following education and/or experience levels is required:</p> </li><li> <p>Ten years or more of school nutrition program experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Associates degree and/or equivalent educational experience, with an academic major in food and nutrition or a related field, and at least 2 years of relevant school nutrition program experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervisory experience required.</p> </li><li> <p>Food manager certification from the health department is required.</p> </li><li> <p>Some institutional food service experience, at a high-volume commercial food service operation required. This includes but is not limited to preparing; hot food, salads, sandwiches, pastry, bakery and ala carte items. As well as the stocking, maintaining and/or coordination of vending services, and the production of catered food for meetings and events.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree in food and nutrition, and a registered dietician, or, ten plus years' experience working in a K-12 nutritional, or food service-related program preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working with information from PEARS (NSLP and CACFP), participating with nutritional analysis, teamwork and Point of Service within Primero Edge, and facilitating student reporting for NSLP, CACFP, PDE and USDA preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of regulations associated with the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs and the Child and Adult Care Food Program preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience using the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) process control system in all aspects of the food service program preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize work.</p> </li><li> <p>Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.</p> </li><li> <p>The ability to provide professional customer service.</p> </li><li> <p>Proficient in or has the ability to quickly learn Office 365, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), Primero Edge software (including point of sale), and any other software application required by the program.</p> </li><li> <p>Other Required Certifications</p> </li><li> <p>Food Managers Certification from the Chester County Health Department.</p> </li><li> <p>Must have a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.</p> </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of all responsibilities related to the National School Breakfast and Lunch program, and Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), to ensure that it is administered in accordance with Federal laws, State Board Regulations, and school system policies for the LC, CCDC, TCHS-Pickering, and SKL locations. As well as monitoring school food service operations to ensure that meals served are nutritionally adequate, standards of safety and sanitation are met following the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) process control system, and that proper records are maintained. </li><li>Responsible for maintaining knowledge of policies, procedures, and compliance requirements for the CACFP program. As well as performing and/or providing instruction and/or training on day-to-day operational needs/responsibilities which include attendance tracking and meal participation as it relates to the claim for reimbursement and subsequent program billing, medical plan of care form menu accommodations and tracking, daily ship out processes, procedures, and compliance requirements. </li><li>Serves as back up to the Food Services Manager with regards to all responsibilities related to USDA commodities, PEARS applications, reports, and the completion of forms required for compliance, standardized recipes for cycle menu creation and entering of cycle menus into Primero Edge, the overall operation and understanding of how School Café works with PrimeroEdge, its operation, and all functions related to menu creation, billing, and overall use. It also includes ensuring that any and all necessary website updates to facilitate compliance and/or customer service are completed. </li><li>Responsible and available to develop, oversee, perform, and maintain full-service catering operations as needed. This may include hands on support in the evenings, and on weekends, holidays, and on and off site as needed. </li><li>Attending and participating in training and professional organizations (SNAPA, USDA PDE etc.) as required to maintain knowledge and networks. This includes attending Health Services Advisory Committee and policy council meetings as back-up for the food services manager to present a nutrition plan that shows how existing menus meet CACFP requirements and Head Start performance standards. Completes at least 10 hours of professional development annually to meet NSLP requirements. </li><li>Performs any other duties as requested by the Food Services Manager or the Supervisor of Food Services/Facilities. </li></ul> <p>Salary Range 2025-26 School Year:</p> <ul> <li>Project Staff, Band 13, Non-exempt </li><li>$30.74 to $38.43 per hour; placement on salary scale dependent upon years of experience in a similar role </li></ul> <p>Schedule:</p> <p>Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 12-month position (260 days).</p> <p>JG</p> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Chester County Intermediate Unit is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
