<p>Athletics Compliance and Events Coordinator</p> <p>Who we are:</p> <p>The University of New Haven, founded on the Yale campus in 1920, is a private, coeducational university that has been recognized by The Princeton Review and U.S. News & World Report for academic excellence. More than 100 academic programs are offered, all grounded in a long-standing commitment to collaborative, interdisciplinary, project-based learning.</p> <p>The Athletics Compliance & Game Day Coordinator supports the department by ensuring adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional rules while also coordinating and executing home athletics events. This dual role provides oversight of recruiting documentation, eligibility, and rules education, while managing the planning, staffing, and successful execution of athletics contests and special events.</p> <p>You will:</p> <p>Compliance (50%)</p> <ul> <li>Monitor and support compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations. </li><li>Assist with eligibility certification processes for initial, continuing, and transfer student-athletes. </li><li>Manage recruiting documentation, official/unofficial visits, and complimentary admissions. </li><li>Support rules education programming for coaches, staff, and student-athletes. </li><li>Maintain compliance records and databases (e.g., Teamworks, Compliance Assistant, LSDBi). </li><li>Provide support for reporting and documentation of NCAA violations and waivers. </li><li>Perform other duties and projects as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Athletics Game Day & Event Operations (50%)</p> <ul> <li>Plan, coordinate, and execute home athletics events, ensuring a safe and positive game day experience. </li><li>Serve as the primary liaison for coordinating and managing travel logistics for all away competitions </li><li>Serve as primary contact for visiting teams, officials, and game staff. </li><li>Oversee event logistics, including facilities setup, event timing sheets, and staff assignments. </li><li>Recruit, train, and supervise student workers and event staff. </li><li>Collaborate with facilities, security, communications, and campus partners to deliver high-quality events. </li><li>Ensure compliance with NCAA rules during contests, including complimentary admissions and game-day protocols. </li><li>Perform other duties and projects as assigned. </li></ul> <p>You need:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred. </li><li>One or more years of experience in NCAA compliance, athletics administration, or event management (student experience considered). </li><li>Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations required. </li><li>Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and problem-solve in fast-paced environments. </li></ul> <p>Whats In It for You:</p> <ul> <li>Health & Welfare Programs: Employees and their eligible family members, including spouses and dependent are eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Programs. </li><li>Wellness & Fitness: On-campus Recreation and Fitness Center for employees and families; Employee Assistant Program </li><li>Commitment to Educational Excellence: Tuition assistance for employees and eligible dependents; Tuition exchange opportunities </li><li>Employee Discounts on products, services and educational opportunities </li><li>Work/Life Benefits: Generous paid time off programs; progressive paid holiday schedule (including holiday break between Christmas and New Years); 4 weeks of parental paid leave; flexible work schedules including summer hours where applicable </li><li>The University of New Haven is not a qualifying E-Verify employer and its use of E-Verify is limited to specific government projects.
