The EHS Department is dedicated to maintaining a safe and healthy setting for students, faculty, staff, contractors and visitors; preserving environmental compliance; and implementing sustainable practices.</p> <p>Position Profile</p> <p>The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for working with faculty and staff of the Art and Theater Departments to maintain regulatory compliance. They will be responding to EHS-related emergencies and serving as a member of the University's spill response team. They will be conducting inspections and will be developing and implementing EHS policies and procedures.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Knowledge of and ability to apply pertinent federal and state laws and regulations. Experience in hazardous waste management. Knowledge of chemical properties and segregation techniques. Ability to use relevant computer programs. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.</p> <p>Applicant Evaluative Criteria</p> <p>Applicant profiles and supplementary materials will be evaluated for appointment based on the following:</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>All applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in environmental science, safety or related field.</p> <p>Experience and Training:</p> <p>Three years of experience with hazardous waste operations, including Federal and State regulations.</p> <p>Ideal Candidate</p> <ul> <li>Preference will be given to applicants with the following: </li><li>Familiarity with safety protocols associated with Art and Theatre (i.e. carpentry, drafting, lighting, rigging, sound and video technology). </li><li>Knowledge of health and safety controls and their application, including engineered devices (ventilation, machine guards), administrative practices (safety training, warning signs) or PPE. </li><li>Hazardous Waste Operation and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training. </li><li>Experience in institutional, laboratory or waste management setting involving scientific work in the hazardous waste area. </li><li>Experience in general and/or construction safety. </li></ul> <p>To Apply</p> <p>To begin the application process, select the "Apply" button and electronically submit the following documents by 12-15-2025.</p> <ul> <li>Letter of interest addressing the qualifications for this position. </li><li>Current Résumé </li><li>Names of three current professional references with title, email addresses and telephone numbers. </li></ul> <p>Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
