<p>Reporting to the ED of Marketing Strategy, the Director of Marketing Strategy, serves as the lead Marketing Strategist for all Schools/Colleges (S/C) and the designated business and/or academic unit (U) as part of Signature Programs. A strategic-thinker who can translate big-picture marketing vision to implementable operational plans, this individual is a dot-connector who must understand how our marketing efforts can work together to build our brand to life and advance our goals.</p> <p>A modern marketer, this individual thinks holistically and knows how to bring together channel owners, creative producers and communicators to develop and implement effective marketing campaigns. Ensures channel teams are empowered and engaged in bringing their expertise to the table to co-create effective integrated marketing strategies.</p> <p>The Director partners with S/C/U to understand goals and objectives and to translate those into targeted marketing strategies. These campaigns leverage research insights to drive tangible, measurable results. With a high degree of emotional intelligence, the Director ensures their teams are positioned as strategic marketing partners for the assigned business/academic unit. Has a solid understanding of contemporary approaches to brand stewardship.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>A bachelor's degree required. </li><li>Five (5) plus years in marketing strategy development. </li><li>Two (2) plus years leading projects and cross-functional teams. </li><li>A track record of implementing major national omnichannel marketing campaigns which meet or exceeded stated measurable goals. </li><li>Experience in higher education or student recruitment strongly preferred. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>A big-picture thinker, connects dots across multiple campaigns to drive an enterprise-level approach to strategic marketing. </li><li>Deep understanding/experience of brand expression and how to bring a brand to life through strategic marketing campaigns. </li><li>Works closely with schools/colleges and business/academic unit marketing teams to ensure effective prioritization and annual planning. </li><li>Experience working in a team-centric operation and independently. </li><li>Must work well with wide range of staff including senior executives, administrative, deans, faculty; students; media representatives; volunteers and other employees. </li><li>Calm under pressure, manage stressful situations in a solution-oriented way and with a positive attitude. </li><li>Comfortable working irregular hours. Excellent management, communication and organizational skills with good attention to detail and follow up and has a demonstrated ability in managing staff and teams. </li><li>Ability to oversee and execute multiple projects simultaneously under the pressure of changing priorities. </li><li>Proactive, takes initiative and willing to assist with last-minute projects and deadlines. </li><li>Close visual acuity to perform tasks related the production of content. </li><li>Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Directs and stewards the overarching marketing priorities strategic plan supporting schools, colleges and business/academic units. </li><li>Partners with Marketing channel teams to co-create impactful marketing strategies to advance targeted goals. </li><li>Works closely with S/C and business/academic unit, team and other marketing teams to ensure effective prioritization and planning annually. </li><li>Makes sure resources are in place to partner with other units to build marketing plans that help them advance their strategic priorities. </li><li>They will be responsible for developing a strong, trusting relationships with partners, and ensuring a coordinated approach marketing and advertising efforts. </li><li>With an ability to spot and mitigate potential issues, this individual builds and manages relationships and mobilizes resources to meet goals. </li><li>Directs the development of marketing plans and related materials, in partnership with channel teams. </li><li>Deeply understands partners business goals to ensure integrated marketing solutions advance key partner objectives. </li><li>Helps team members trouble-shoot challenges. </li><li>A problem-solver, works with other leaders to ensure dozens of marketing programs and projects stay on-time and on- budget. </li><li>Serves as lead marketer on special projects as needed. </li><li>Reviews, directs, guides and mentors. </li><li>Attends partner meetings. </li><li>Ensures teams effectively translate strategy to operations. </li><li>Direct reports include a Project Manager and Strategist as they partner with designated S/C/U and others within Marketing to bring marketing strategies from concept to completion. </li><li>Provides counsel to Executive Director and collaborates on building a best-in-class marketing operation. </li><li>Stays up-to-date on industry trends. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Tools/Equipment</p> <p>Not Applicable</p> <p>Application Instructions</p> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
