In this role, you will complete associated duties, such as drawing blood, transporting specimens and interpreting physician orders. Despite serving in a leadership role, you will still serve as a team member, showing exceptional customer service to facilitate a positive patient experience. All the while, you will continue developing your clinical skills within an exciting, inviting and supportive healthcare environment.</p> <p>A caregiver in this position works full-time| evenings| 3:30pm-12:00pm| weekends as needed.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Handle internal and external customer service issues/concerns and initiate any necessary follow-up.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate to the staff all procedural changes and/or problems pertinent to the delivery of healthcare.</p> </li><li> <p>In the absence of Supervisor or Team Leader, serve as the point person for problem resolution in a timely manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Collect blood samples from all patients using venipuncture or capillary puncture techniques.</p> </li><li> <p>Interpret physician orders for sample collection.</p> </li><li> <p>Instruct patients in the proper technique for collecting various specimens.</p> </li><li> <p>Process specimens and enter results for tests referred to reference laboratories.</p> </li><li> <p>Deliver all samples collected to the Laboratory Accession Area for processing.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure safety and attend to any patient who faints or becomes ill.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate orientation and training schedules.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist Supervisor/Team Leader to ensure section is in compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency standards and safety guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in the training of Phlebotomy students and the orientation of new employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in and/or conduct in-services and continuing education programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend workshops, seminars and lectures to keep current on new procedures and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain inventory system for Laboratory stock and Outpatient Drawing Areas.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma/GED</p> </li><li> <p>Two years of experience in a clinical laboratory</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated leadership and training experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Associate's Degree</p> </li><li> <p>Phlebotomy Certification</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Light lifting and carrying, under 15 lbs.</p> </li><li> <p>Use of fingers and both hands required.</p> </li><li> <p>Walking, standing and bending.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability for rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to differentiate color, hue, saturation and tones.</p> </li><li> <p>Must have depth perception.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. In some positions, this includes receiving and recording information from patients at their bedside.</p> </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Minimum hourly: $19.25</p> <p>Maximum hourly: $29.30</p> <p>The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
