<p>Norfolk Public Schools Norfolk, Massachusetts</p> <p>Substitute Custodian</p> <p>Job Description: To provide students, teachers and staff with a safe and clean environment in which to educate and learn. This is a Monday through Friday on-call night substitute custodian position to help the Facilities Department fill gaps in our school custodial schedule.</p> <p>Specific duties include: Cleaning of School Building Areas, including: Classrooms, bathrooms, hallways, stairwells, office spaces, common areas, gymnasium, cafeteria and library. General Duties include: Sweeping, vacuuming and mopping of classroom floors and hallways Cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms touch surfaces Cleaning and sanitizing of bathroom fixtures, walls, partitions and floors Restocking of all bathroom dispensers Cleaning of glass surfaces in assigned areas Dusting of furniture, window sills and light fixtures as needed Empty and disposal of all trash and recycling in assigned areas Maintain an organized and fully stocked supply room, report any inventory needs to the Head Custodian or other custodial staff. Assist Custodial staff with any event setup or breakdown that occurs during assigned shift. Closes and secures building throughout shift Turn off all classroom lighting as rooms are completed Ensure all doors and windows are secure and locked Promptly report any damage to school property to the Director and Head Custodian Performs all other tasks as assigned by the Director or Head Custodian.</p> <p>Skills and Qualifications: Knowledge and ability to operate custodial equipment, including: floor machines, floor brushes, burnishing machines, vacuum cleaners, mops, etc. Knowledge of proper handling of cleaning products and chemicals. Ability to lift over 40 pounds. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.</p> <p>Education and Experience: High School or Trade School Diploma Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Director may find appropriate and acceptable.</p> <p>Evaluation: The Facilities Director and/or the Building Principal will evaluate performance of this position semi- annually.</p> <p>Salary: $20.00/hour</p>
