<p>Position Diesel Technician Crane Boom & Utility Truck Specialist Location Carol Stream IL Company Interstate Power Systems Pay Range 35005000hour DOE Position Overview Interstate Power Systems is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician with experienceor strong interestin repairing and diagnosing utility work trucks equipped with cranes boom lifts and aerial systems This role focuses heavily on troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic electrical and mechanical systems on work trucks used in utility construction and emergency response applications Experience withor willingness to learnemergency vehicle ladder systems and dielectric testing is highly valued Youll work both in the shop and in the field to ensure equipment is operating safely efficiently and in compliance with industry standards Key Responsibilities Diagnostics & Repair Diagnose and repair work trucks with cranes boom lifts and aerial equipmentTroubleshoot hydraulic electrical and mechanical systems across complex equipmentPerform repairs on boom arms lift systems crane components and support structuresAerial & Specialty Systems Inspect maintain and repair bucket trucks and aerial lift equipmentAssist with or perform emergency vehicle ladder system diagnostics and repairsConduct and support dielectric testing to ensure equipment meets safety standardsHydraulics & Electrical Diagnose and repair hydraulic pumps hoses cylinders and valvesTroubleshoot electrical systems including controls sensors wiring and safety circuitsAddress issues impacting lift performance control functionality and safety systemsPreventative Maintenance Perform scheduled maintenance including fluid checks brake inspections and component servicingEnsure safe and reliable operation of all aerial and utility equipmentSafety & Compliance Ensure equipment meets OSHA DOT and ANSI safety standardsInspect and verify safe operation of boom lifts cranes and ladder systemsMaintain proper documentation of inspections repairs and testingField Service Respond to field service calls to diagnose and repair equipment on siteMinimize downtime for customers through efficient troubleshooting and repairsQualifications Experience & Skills Experience with work trucks cranes aerial lifts or heavy equipment preferredStrong ability to diagnose hydraulic and electrical systemsMechanical aptitude with a problem solving mindsetInterest or experience in emergency vehicle equipment ladder systems is a plusCertifications Preferred ASE certifications or equivalentAerial Work Platform Working at Heights certificationExperience with or exposure to dielectric testing is a plusPhysical Requirements Ability to lift heavy parts and toolsComfortable working at heights and in various environmentsWork Environment Combination of shop and field service workExposure to outdoor conditions and elevated workOvertime and on call opportunities based on business needsEmployee Benefits Competitive pay be paid your worthCompany paid uniformsTool program availableTuition assistance for career growthHealth dental and vision Union CBAPaid Time Off & Holidays Union CBA401k with company matchPaid STD LTD and Life InsurancePPE reimbursement boots safety glassesVirtual healthcare Healthiest YouPet insurance & employee discountsEmployee Assistance Program 247 support</p>
