Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$89,000.00 - $141,875.00</p> <p>Overview The Associate University Registrar provides primary functional oversight for the Student Support unit within the University Registrar's Office (URO). Reporting to the University Registrar, the Associate University Registrar works with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) academic departments, Yale College and Graduate School Deans Offices, professional school registrars, Information Technology Services, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and other key offices to advance the mission of teaching and learning at Yale University by ensuring quality operational support and guidance for the management of student records, degree progress, reporting and compliance. The Associate Registrar trains and supervises a team responsible for following industry standards and best practices for registration, transcript and verification service, graduation clearance, handling student records, and demonstrating high levels of proficiency and accuracy processing academic data. Significant ongoing systems projects require focused leadership and coordinated time management, as well as, strong prioritization abilities to balance operational and project work while delivering successful outcomes. Required Skills and Abilities 1. Demonstrated expertise working with student and academic records, including student records privacy (FERPA) policy and procedures. 2. Technical expertise and proficiency working with integrated administrative software, software applications, reporting tools and spreadsheet applications. 3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with and foster collaboration among a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a large, complex academic environment. 4. Strong managerial/supervisory skills. 5. Expert knowledge of complex academic policies and procedures such as curriculum, registration, enrollment, classrooms, grading, assessment, or scheduling. Familiarity with issues that influence higher education and/or the profession. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills Knowledge of student information systems such as: Ellucian Banner, DegreeWorks, Application Xtender, Parchment, Dynamic Forms, and Leepfrog CourseLeaf. Experience in a decentralized (Research 1 University) and advanced degree.</p> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Serves as principal professional resource and manages daily operations of one or more office units. 2. Defines and applies formal policies and procedures to maintain strong customer service. 3. Provides functional leadership and subject matter expertise for planning in the design, development, maintenance, refinement, enhancement, and deployment of academic processes and systems. 4. Champions the use of university-wide systems for common functions to improve data quality, eliminate shadow systems, and reduce maintenance efforts and/or costs. 5. Hires, trains, and mentors new staff. 6. Manages staff, proactively ensuring collaborative teamwork through strong, consistent communication. Establishes explicit, tangible performance measures and goals monitored through regular interaction with direct reports. Organizes and leads staff meetings. 7. Participates in curriculum design and implementation of staff training programs to ensure optimal use of student systems and to promote best practices across the institution. 8. Supports academic departments in the cyclical production and publication of bulletins, maintenance of the curriculum, and term-by-term course offering information. 9. Ensures efficient use of campus-wide academic teaching space through oversight of classroom assignment process. Works closely with relevant offices to improve and refine scheduling policy. 10. Generates reports to meet analytic and programmatic objectives. 11. Open, effective communicator with demonstrated ability to engage positively, constructively, and build relationships with administrators, faculty, students, and staff. 12. Provides expert support and counsel to relevant faculty committees, affiliated offices, and professional schools. 13. Meets university and external compliance requirements. 14. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in relevant field and six years of central registrar's office experience; or an equivalent combination of education, coursework, training, and experience. </li></ol> <p>Background Check Requirements</p> <p>All candidates for employment will be subject to pre-employment background screening for this position, which may include motor vehicle, DOT certification, drug testing and credit checks based on the position description and job requirements.
