Discover your opportunities at Yale!</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$61,500.00 - $91,875.00</p> <p>Position Focus</p> <p>The Research Associate 1 MS will independently support basic and translational research in pulmonary fibrosis by carrying out experiments using translational models such as organoids and 3D precision cut translational models. The Research Associate will also perform animal work utilizing molecular biology and 'omics' related equipment and apparatus. The Research Associate is expected to carry out specific regimens or protocols to achieve research goals and objectives. This role involves work to breed, provide care and husbandry support and perform surgical tasks for research animals. The Research Associate will also be responsible for acquiring, collecting, inputting and reporting research data; and for providing general laboratory maintenance for safety, operations and security.</p> <p>Preferred Skills and Abilities</p> <ol> <li> <p>Ability to research and collect data through complex pulmonary fibrosis experiments, techniques, and procedures; including animal and human translational work.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to perform data interpretation and analyses. Reports on status of research activities. Sets up, operates and maintains all laboratory equipment and apparatus.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to assist in designing, developing, and modifying research experiments, procedures, or survey instruments. May oversee and instruct research staff.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to formulate and prepare scientific solutions and media. Recruit study participants and maintain laboratory inventory of supplies.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to record and compile information related to research data. Code data accordingly to research specifications and input and retrieve data and to generate reports. Ability to process and summarize data using scientific or statistical techniques. Performs additional functions incidental to research activities.</p> </li></ol> <p>Principal Responsibilities</p> <ol> <li>Recommends the design and implementation of procedures and protocols under the direction of a higher-level authority. 2. Investigates, analyzes, and reaches preliminary scientific conclusions related to research planning 3. Ensures data results are compiled, analyzed, and presented properly. 4. Analyzes, develops and interprets scientific results. Maintains clear documentation of results. Prepares scientific reports and papers for research proposals and published reports. 5. Performs independent research and laboratory techniques and participates in experimental research planning. 6. Interacts with internal contacts including the PI, research assistants, graduate students, Radiation Safety and Biological Safety officers, and Animal Care personnel to discuss and evaluate research results and to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the laboratory. 7. Interacts with external contacts such as researchers at other institutions, staff at biotechnology and reagents companies to consult on research methods and to keep abreast of product information and developments. 8. May perform other duties as assigned.
