Empowering.</p> <p>BAE Systems is seeking a talented Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our Procurement Quality Support Engineering (PQSE) team in York, Pennsylvania. In this role as a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will use your expertise to ensure that every component meets rigorous standards. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our suppliers' products by primarily reviewing and approving First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and First Article Test (FAT) plans.</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate FAI and FAT plans/reports to ensure compliance with technical requirements and industry standards (AS9102 and performance specifications) </li><li>Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate submission of FAI/FATs </li><li>Work with internal teams and suppliers to resolve discrepancies and non-conformance issues </li><li>Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing data to assess FAI/FAT completeness and suitability </li><li>Provide technical support and guidance on FAI/FAT processes to internal teams and suppliers </li><li>Promote a \"Zero Defect\" mentality and A3 problem-solving practices within the supply base </li></ul> <p>This position support at the York, PA site on 1st Shift.</p> <p>Required Education, Experience, & Skills</p> <ul> <li>Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years of experience in creating, reviewing, or approving FAI/FATs; </li><li>Experience with Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Corrective/Preventative Actions; </li><li>Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Systems, AS9102 First Article Requirements, and industry standards (ASME, ASTM, SAE, etc.); </li><li>Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME/ASQ Y14.5); </li><li>Practical problem-solving skills and experience with quality gauges and measuring tools; </li><li>Effective communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation). </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Quality) or related discipline; </li><li>Experience in a Defense Prime Contract environment; </li><li>Knowledge of PPAP and APQP documentation; </li><li>Experience with product line validation, test plans, and product qualification; </li><li>Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma concepts and tools (e.g., Green/Black Belt); </li><li>Knowledge of Toyota Production System (TPS) and A3 problem-solving tools. </li></ul> <p>Pay Information</p> <p>Full-Time Salary Range: $72150 - $122655</p> <p>Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures.
