<p>REPORTS TO: Principal</p> <p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>Responsible for teaching Chemistry and Engineering to high school students. Creates engaging lesson plans aligned with district and CCSS standards and fosters a positive and inclusive learning environment. Maintains student records, assesses student progress and communicates with parents. Engages in professional development and contributes to the school's mission to support student success.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <p>Instruction & Lesson Planning: Teaches Chemistry and Engineering to high school students, establishes clear learning objectives and communicates these objectives to students. Develops lesson plans aligned with CCSS and District guidelines.</p> <p>Classroom Management: Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Employs differentiated instruction, and integrates educational technology.</p> <p>Student Assessment & Support: Regularly assesses student progress, provides reports, and collaborates with specialists to address learning needs and/or disabilities.</p> <p>Safety & Compliance: Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintains accurate records as required by law, and together with Administration, implements all District policies.</p> <p>Communication & Collaboration: Engages with parents, supports students for education-related purposes outside instructional hours as required or when requested to do so. Collaboratively works with school administration.</p> <p>Professional Growth: Attends meetings, serves on committees as required, and continues to improve by participating in ongoing professional development.</p> <p>Performs any other duties as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent-Director and/or their designee.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Excellent communication skills required. Strong classroom management abilities to maintain a structured and engaging learning environment. Exceptional organizational skills required. Commitment to ongoing professional development and collaboration with students, parents, and colleagues. Must be authorized to work in the United States.</p> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Must be licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to teach Chemistry and/or Engineering (9-12). SEI Endorsement required. Prior teaching experience in a high school setting required.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>Full Time position. 184 working days per school year. This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the Bay Path Teachers Association and the SWCRVSDC.</p> <p>SALARY: Appropriate step on Teacher's salary schedule pursuant to the BPTA CBA.
