<p>Key Accountabilities:</p> <ul> <li>System Integration: Define and manage interfaces between mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems onboard rolling stock to ensure seamless system interoperability. </li><li>Requirements Management: Develop, track, and verify system-level requirements, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and relevant industry standards such as EN50126/8/9 and TSI. </li><li>Design Coordination: Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and testing teams, reviewing activities to confirm proper system implementation and integration. </li><li>Documentation: Create and critically review system architecture documents, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and functional specifications to maintain technical accuracy and compliance. </li><li>Testing & Validation: Support and witness system-level testing activities including functional, performance, and safety validation in laboratory and field environments. </li><li>Problem Solving: Assist in diagnosing and resolving system issues arising during development, manufacturing, and operational phases to ensure reliability. </li><li>Compliance & Safety: Verify adherence to railway industry regulations and safety standards throughout all project phases. </li><li>Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a technical point of contact between engineering teams, suppliers, and clients, facilitating clear communication and resolution of technical challenges. </li></ul> <p>Education & Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Transport Engineering, or a related discipline. </li><li>Strong knowledge of railway engineering and operations, including rolling stock (locomotives, EMUs, DMUs, high-speed trains) and onboard systems (HV/MV/LV electrical/electronic components, signaling systems such as ETCS, CBTC, PTC, interlocking, traction, braking, HVAC, TCMS). </li><li>Solid experience in systems engineering and integration, with familiarity in electrical architecture, safety-critical systems, and interface management involving hardware, software, and infrastructure. </li><li>Expertise in managing mixed traffic operations encompassing high-speed, freight, and commuter trains. </li><li>Technical proficiency in configuration management, performance evaluation, verification, and both static and dynamic validation techniques. </li><li>Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS) and working knowledge of international standards (EN, UIC, TSI) and safety standards (EN50126, EN50128, EN50129). </li></ul> <p>Department: Transportation (NAM) Contingent Worker Positions: 2 Skills Required: Rail, Rolling Stock Engineer, System Engineering Location: California (Virtual)Designation: Contingent WorkerPosted On: 08-Aug-2025</p>
