<p>REQUIRED:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree; and </li><li>Professional Administrator, Mid-Management, Superintendent or Principal Certificate; </li><li>T-TESS (Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System) and T-PESS (Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System) and ILD (Instructional Leadership Development) or AEL (Advancing Educational Leadership) training certificates. </li><li>Five (5) years teaching experience. </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED:</p> <ul> <li>Bilingual-English/Spanish; </li><li>Degree in Reading, Bilingual Education, or Curriculum and Instruction; </li><li>Certification in more than one academic area. </li><li>Experience as a Lead Teacher, Department Chairperson, or Curriculum Developer; and </li><li>Strong knowledge base of TEKS. </li></ul> <p>The role of the Dean of Instruction is to assist in providing leadership, coordination, and improvement in elementary school instructional programs, utilizing available expertise and leadership necessary for a well-rounded academic program to improve academic achievement on state-mandated assessments in a manner consistent with Board Policy and consistent with statutes of regulatory agencies. In addition, Elementary Dean will assist teachers in providing a quality and meaningful instructional program for At-Risk students by providing targeted and on-going researched-based professional development.</p>
