Please see the Employee Associations Page for the current master agreement and important documents associated with your bargaining unit. </li></ul> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <ul> <li>Utilizes current assessment instruments to determine a student's skills and abilities in the areas of language, pragmatics, articulation, functional communication, voice, and fluency; provides intervention that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of each individual student </li><li>Gathers and organizes information to write educationally-based Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and ensures educational relevance when assessing and providing services </li><li>Implements Multi-Tier Systems of Support (MTSS) and Evidence Based Practice (EBP) initiatives </li><li>Employs a continuum of service delivery models in the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities </li><li>Communicates evaluation results at evaluation meetings and interprets assessments </li><li>Follows compliance laws for meeting federal and state mandates as well as local policies in the performance of duties such as Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, Medicaid billing, report writing, and treatment plan/therapy log development </li><li>Uses data-based decision making, including gathering and interpreting data with individual students to be responsible for progress monitoring and student outcomes </li></ul> <p>What You'll Need:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree - Speech-Language Pathology (communication disorders) - Required </li><li>Two (2+) plus years experience with speech language and communication assessments used for students eligible for special education - Required </li><li>School experience preferred but not required </li><li>Augmentative and Assistive Technology experience preferred but not required </li><li>Colorado Department of Education (CDE) endorsement in Speech-Language Pathology (Professional Spec Services License or Initial Special Service License); Valid driver's license, appropriate insurance coverage, and an acceptable driving record for the past three years - Required </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook </li><li>Effective time management and organizational skills </li><li>Effective communication skills </li><li>Strong attention to detail </li><li>Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines </li><li>The ability to take responsibility for one's own performance </li><li>Works collaboratively with others on a team </li><li>Knowledge working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and the ability to establish rapport with families and students with diverse cultural backgrounds </li><li>Awareness of laws and policies regarding special education </li><li>Willingness and ability to travel to multiple schools/sites to provide itinerant services </li><li>Bilingual in Spanish or another language preferred and may be required for some positions </li><li>Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education. </li><li>Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us. </li></ul> <p>Denver Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, gender expression, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, military service, or any other status protected by law or regulations.
