<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Position Summary</p> <p>Provide online instruction. Teach and assess student learning, contribute to department work, engage in professional development and contribute to shared governance obligations including accreditation.</p> <p>Key Performance Indicators</p> <ul> <li>Timely, accurate preparation of syllabi </li><li>Adhere to department guidelines with use of textbook/materials required </li><li>Timely, accurate submission of attendance and grade records </li><li>Timely, accurate submission of assessment findings </li><li>Engagement in classes on time and for the full allocated time </li></ul> <p>Essential Functions</p> <ul> <li>Teach and assess online English Comp I and II and potentially other courses on the Park Hills campus based on instructor credentials and student needs. </li><li>Report attendance and grades as prescribed by the rules and regulations of the college. </li><li>Adhere to department guidelines. </li><li>Faculty members shall maintain a course schedule and communication with students that clearly covers all department designated learning objectives. </li><li>Adhere to all campus safety guidelines. </li><li>Prepare and submit copies of syllabi to appropriate administrator for each class taught. </li><li>Participate in assessment procedures established by each respective department. </li></ul> <p>Required Behaviors, Competencies, and Skills</p> <p>Possess strong service orientation and commitment to continuous learning.</p> <p>Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people.</p> <p>Interpersonal skills:</p> <p>Excellent verbal and written presentation skills.</p> <p>Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with other employees at all levels.</p> <p>Ability to work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.</p> <p>Effective organizational skills.</p> <p>Ability to handle confidential material judiciously.</p> <p>Technical skills:</p> <p>Ability to use information technology for instruction.</p> <p>Ability to use technology for the timely and accurate submission of confidential student attendance and grade records.</p> <p>Experience</p> <p>Education:</p> <p>Master's degree from accredited institution in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, Literature, or Technical Writing or Master's with at least 18 graduate hours in areas of instruction.</p> <p>Work Experience:</p> <p>Teaching experience, preferably at the college level, and experience with course level assessment required.</p> <p>Proficient use of instructional technology required.</p> <p>Industry Knowledge:</p> <p>Familiarity with online and distance learning pedagogy preferred.</p> <p>Knowledge of learning management systems preferred.</p> <p>Work Environment and Physical Requirements</p> <p>Working in a professional educational and office environment this position requires sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, light lifting, grasping, talking, seeing, hearing and repetitive motion.</p> <p>Mineral Area College is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender identity, disability, age, religion, creed, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, genetic and family medical history as defined by GINA, or marital or parental status, in admission/access to, or treatment/employment in its programs and activities.</p> <p>Apply Here!</p>
