<p>This position provides clerical and administrative support for the Civil Section of the Patrol Division. This position is located at the Adams County Courthouse. </p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide highly responsible administrative and clerical assistance and technical support to the Civil Section by conducting specific and comprehensive analysis of policies, organizational procedures, finance, and service.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform moderately complex and varied administrative functions.</p> </li><li> <p>Requires the application of independent judgment, interpretation of applicable policies, procedures, and governmental guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, performing tasks under pressure and heavy workload.</p> </li><li> <p>Interpreting court-issued documents for statutory efficiency and completeness before assignment for service.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to apply Colorado Statutes to each case received and recognize special requirements to be applied regarding out-of-state papers.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete an accurate computerized affidavit of service for each process received.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work within constant deadlines requiring papers being served and/or returned to the court mandated by the statutes.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability and knowledge to understand the Colorado Rules of Civil Procedure and Colorado Statutes, as well as the ability to apply them to complex legal documents.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct various inquiries and modifications using the CCIC/NCIC computer.</p> </li><li> <p>Review Civil documents for accuracy and authenticity before assignment for service.</p> </li><li> <p>Formulate and prepare documents in legal terminology for the Sheriff's signature.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide general civil process information to the public, including attorneys, landlords, other law enforcement, and governmental agencies.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to explain, with accuracy, the Sheriff's Office procedures on all civil processes.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide assistance and direction (NOT LEGAL ADVICE) for citizens completing a civil process. Answer questions and know where to refer them to the proper agency or division.</p> </li><li> <p>Answering public and court inquiries regarding the state of papers.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist outside agencies with civil questions or procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare returns and other forms requiring very accurate completeness.</p> </li><li> <p>Compile and analyze data and statistical information for Civil Section monthly reports and Sheriff's Office Annual Report.</p> </li><li> <p>Prepare, type, and proofread various reports, forms, letters, and statistical information related to civil process and the Sheriff's Office. </p> </li><li> <p>Assist in planning, organizing, designing, and implementing new programs and revising existing clerical activities. </p> </li><li> <p>Plan, prepare, and distribute intra/inter-departmental communications. </p> </li><li> <p>Assist the Civil Sergeant in reviewing projects, tasks, and assignments conforming to civil regulations and procedures. </p> </li><li> <p>Prepare the Civil Section's deposits and/or refund forms. </p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a petty cash fund for the Civil Section. </p> </li><li> <p>Maintain records and files for the Civil Section. </p> </li><li> <p>Monitor supply inventory and prepare purchase order requests. Track and monitor the Section's budget. Provide account information to the Sergeant. </p> </li><li> <p>Accept, interpret, and prepare documents necessary for levying personal property, real property, and Decree of Foreclosures. </p> </li><li> <p>Accept, interpret, and prepare the seizure under court order, Writ of Attachment, Writ of Replevin, and Order for Possession. </p> </li><li> <p>Ability to efficiently manage and conduct Sheriff's sales issued from the District and County Courts. </p> </li><li> <p>Prepare complex and accurate paperwork and documentation upon the completion of a sheriff's sale for the courts. This requires recording certain documents with the County Clerk and Recorder and publishing a Notice of Sheriff's Sale with a local newspaper. </p> </li><li> <p>Prepare legal documents required for Sheriff Sales. Send notice to the local newspaper for publication. File and maintain Sheriff's sale records. </p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to accurately and efficiently enter data.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality beyond the normal scope of employment requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>High School Diploma or equivalent education.</p> </li><li> <p>Two years of clerical experience in a law enforcement agency or related field preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>General knowledge of math and grammar.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Sheriff's Office policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Be knowledgeable of the RMS, JMS, ILEADS, and CCIC/NCIC systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate facts and evidence.</p> </li><li> <p>Exercises independent judgment regarding procedures and techniques required to complete assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong analytical and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize, multitask, and provide high-quality work product under tight deadlines.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of Federal/State laws and statutes applicable to the law enforcement support function of the job position.</p> </li><li> <p>Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, orally, and in writing.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work professionally with other employees, agencies, clients, and the public.</p> </li><li> <p>Notary public.</p> </li></ul>
