<p>Classification</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Minimum Pay</p> <p>$24.38</p> <p>Compensation will be commensurate with the level of the position, education, and experience.</p> <p>JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY</p> <p>The Lead supports 180 Re-entry Assistance Program employment initiatives, providing leadership, coordination, direction, and supervision. This position will work closely with the Director to create new workforce opportunities, increase Job Center effectiveness, engage and enhance partnerships, and grow second chance employer relationships and support through direct liaison support.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Provides day-to-day management of the Job Center. </li><li>Hosts regular team meetings and assists with supervision and evaluation of Job Center team. </li><li>Schedules and provides oversight of second chance employer fairs and other employment activities on campus and inside Nebraska correctional facilities. </li><li>Conducts Re-entry Job Center tours for workforce partners and attends employer tours. </li><li>Recruits employers to develop or enhance employment opportunities for the re-entry population. </li><li>Engages employers regularly to build, maintain or strengthen partnerships. </li><li>Provides liaise support to employed participants and employer. </li><li>Manages noncredit work readiness trainings on campus and in the correctional facilities. </li><li>Maintains Job Center database to document numbers served, employment attained, wages received and ongoing supports issued to participants. </li><li>Oversees program transportation needs and designates, as necessary. </li><li>Administers the National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC) acquisition system for the incarcerated and re-entry populations. </li><li>Evaluates and reports Job Center data to the Director for monthly, quarterly and annual reports. </li><li>Collaborates with Director, MCC departments, industry and other stakeholders to plan and implement short term training opportunities for 180 RAP students that lead to meaningful employment. </li><li>Analyzes statistics, data, workforce trends and provides suggestions for consideration of program improvements and employment outcomes. </li><li>Develops staff through staff development coordination. </li><li>Shows leadership by attending college-wide events, and is involved in college and community projects and committees. </li><li>Consistently and dependably, attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned. </li></ul> <p>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and skill in employability preparation, effective program leadership and management, including organization processes. </li><li>Skilled at managing multiple priorities, paying close attention to detail, and working in a team setting. </li><li>Knowledge of corrections, re-entry, resources and community providers. </li><li>Ability to develop strong, positive relationships with MCC staff and leadership, employers, corrections and community professionals. </li><li>Knowledge of workforce needs and trends, correctional policies, and education requirements. </li><li>Knowledge of re-entry initiatives. </li><li>Knowledge with MS Office Suite and other college supported systems. </li><li>Excellent written communication skills including drafting of policies and procedures for department and creating effective external communications with employers. </li><li>Effective presentation skills appropriate for internal and external audiences of MCC leadership, correctional administrators, employers, community partners, and other professionals. </li><li>Ability to articulate a commitment to enhancing inclusion and diversity by effectively interacting with persons of varied backgrounds, cultures, and experiences. </li><li>Ability to use computer-based office environment equipment and programs and to implement technology solutions. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in education, management or re-entry related field. </li><li>Two (2) years of full-time work-related experience in higher education, re-entry specific workforce training, recruitment, planning and/or program management. </li><li>Demonstrated experience with re-entry or at-risk populations and programs is preferred. </li><li>Must be eligible to enter a correctional facility. </li><li>Equivalent combination of education and/or work experience considered. </li><li>Ability to travel between campuses and community for meetings or position responsibilities. </li><li>Must pass a background check. </li></ul> <p>The specific statements shown in each section of this description are not intended to be all inclusive.
