<p>Kforce's client, a Suffolk County Long Island, NY-based full-service CPA firm is seeking a Staff Auditor/Accountant professional. The firm is known for its outstanding culture and competitive compensation program. In this role, the Senior Auditor will serve as the in-charge Auditor for diverse engagements.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Staff Auditor/Accountant will manage junior staff members on engagements </li><li>Develop testing strategies during the planning phase of in-charge engagements and complete planning documentation according to firm standards, GAAS, and best </li><li>Complete internal controls documentation, risk assessment, testing and random sample generation for internal and external audit engagements </li><li>Perform substantive external audit procedures in moderate and high-risk audit areas, generally account receivable, revenue, debt, net assets/equity, and other areas </li><li>Handle reporting phases of engagements, including completing reporting documentation according to firm standards, GAAS, and best practices </li><li>As a Staff Auditor/Accountant, you will prepare financial statements and other financial reports for essentially all engagements on which they serve </li><li>Prepare management letters for essentially all engagements on which they serve </li><li>Prepare and/or review nonprofit information returns (IRS Form 990 and New York State CHAR500)* College degree in Accounting - 150 credits preferred </li><li>CPA is a plus </li><li>3+ years of audit experience in public accounting, preferably with non-profit, school, and/or employee benefit plan clients </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word </li><li>Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and research abilities </li><li>Applied working knowledge of US GAAP and GAAS; GAGAS experience is preferred </li><li>Familiarity with ProSystem fx Engagement is preferred </li></ul>
