<p>Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking a highly skilled Wireless Research Engineer to join an advanced emerging technologies team focused on shaping the future of wireless and network innovation. This role is centered on forward-looking research, experimentation, and prototyping, with direct involvement in lab-based testing and real-world trials. The Wireless Architect will work at the intersection of research and execution, exploring new capabilities across wireless technologies while helping validate and translate findings into deployable solutions.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct deep technical research across wireless technologies, including 5G and early-stage emerging standards </li><li>Design, build, and execute proofs of concept (POCs), lab trials, and field experiments </li><li>Work heavily in a lab environment, performing hands-on testing and validation </li><li>Evaluate new features, capabilities, and architectures, and assess their impact on existing networks </li><li>Contribute to innovation efforts related to wireless evolution, including next-generation network use cases </li><li>Develop and present research findings, technical insights, and recommendations to leadership </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transition successful concepts into engineering and deployment </li><li>Participate in multiple concurrent initiatives, balancing research and execution* Strong background in RF engineering, including design, optimization, amplifiers, and nodes </li><li>Proven ability to conduct technical research and drive insights from emerging technologies </li><li>Experience working in research-driven or innovation-focused environments </li><li>Hands-on experience with lab testing, prototyping, and experimental validation </li><li>Strong understanding of wireless systems, particularly 5G, and the PHY layer </li><li>Familiarity with 3GPP standards </li><li>Ability to translate research into practical applications and validated outcomes </li><li>Strong communication skills, including the ability to present technical findings clearly </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Advanced degree (PhD or equivalent research experience) </li><li>Experience with emerging wireless technologies (e.g., early 6G concepts, satellite integration) </li><li>Background in wireline or hybrid network technologies (fiber, DOCSIS, WiFi) </li><li>Experience working with telecom equipment vendors or lab-grade infrastructure </li><li>Exposure to small cell technologies or advanced network architectures </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Onsite role - 5 days per week in a lab setting (critical requirement) </li><li>Highly collaborative, research-oriented team environment </li><li>Fast-paced, innovation-driven work with high visibility </li></ul>
