Then the South Carolina Department of Social Services has the right job opportunity for you.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <ul> <li>The Forecasting Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining the agency's forecasting model, including but not limited to, analyzing the financial activity and trends of each funding source. Funding sources include approximately 40 federal grants, earmarked funds and state general funds, totaling approximately $800 million annually. Incumbent will use historical data and work with program areas and grants accounting staff to understand the needs of each funding source to accurately forecast future financial position. Incumbent will also work with HR to track position levels and funding. This position will create and maintain various monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and will create ad hoc reports as needed. </li><li>Develops, updates and manages the agency's financial forecasting model on a monthly and as needed basis, and regularly and effectively communicates changes, recommendations and issues to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis and others as needed. </li><li>Meets as needed with other business areas to identify changes to contracts and grants, recurring and non-recurring operating costs and other relevant activities. Ensures the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, Controller, CFO and agency program stakeholders are informed of actual and forecasted financial positions for all agency funding sources and programs. </li><li>Assists the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis with developing, maintaining, and enhancing the monthly financial status and results reporting package to be presented to the CFO and other Executive Management. Reports should illustrate the current financial status of all funding sources, forecasted future position, comparisons from prior forecasts, contractual obligations, staffing changes and other relevant analyses as directed by the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. </li><li>Develops and maintains various monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports and ad hoc reports for management review and use, and assists with various reconciliations as needed. </li><li>Assists in the preparation of annual closing packages, audit work-papers and other information as needed for any internal and/or external financial audits. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business with accounting courses and at least five (5) years of professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing or finance.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>This application for employment with the SC Department of Social Services must be completed in its entirety.
