<p>Employment Type:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Shift:</p> <p>Day Shift</p> <p>Description:</p> <p>Position Purpose:</p> <p>At Mercy Medical Center, the Nursing Instructor in the Education Department assesses, plans, develops, implements, and evaluates staff development programs, including orientation, in-service education, and continuing education. The instructor functions as an educator, consultant, and resource to staff.</p> <p>What you will do:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Coordinate and provide competency-based orientation programs for all levels of nursing personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and provide continuing education activities according to ANCC standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Work collaboratively with students and faculty from affiliating schools of nursing.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Nursing or Education is preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure: Valid and current Massachusetts registered nurse licensure is required.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Labor & Delivery or Maternity practice experience with some teaching experience is required.</p> </li><li> <p>BLS or CPR Certification: Current certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. Preference granted to those with Instructor certification.</p> </li><li> <p>ACLS: Certification is required, with Instructor certification being highly preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Neonatal Resuscitation: Certification is required, with Instructor certification being highly preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Skills: Knowledge of educational methodologies, media, and materials, as well as experience with Meditech applications.
