<p>The Worcester Public Schools is seeking student interns to serve as Teacher Assistants within the Innovation Career Pathways (ICP) Program. ICP is an extended-day, technical education program designed to support students in learning technical skills needed for future career success.</p> <p>Teacher Assistant - Interns will be responsible for supporting high-quality learning experiences by assisting teachers with materials, room setup, and student engagement throughout the lesson. Interns should be comfortable helping peers with classwork, answering questions, and encouraging positive participation. Successful applicants will demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and strong communication skills. This position is ideal for students who have mastered skills in their own technical classes and want to further develop their leadership and professional skills. Students with an interest in education careers are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Prepare and organize classroom materials according to directions from instructor. </li><li>Assist instructors with setting up the classroom and activity stations. </li><li>Support students during lessons by answering questions, offering guidance, and completing peer tutoring when appropriate. </li><li>Model professionalism, positive peer leadership, and strong interpersonal skills. </li><li>Perform additional tasks as needed to support daily class operations. </li></ul> <p>Dates/Times/Schedule</p> <ul> <li>The Innovation Career Pathways Program operates Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:15pm - 5:45pm at Worcester Technical High School 1 Officer Manny Familia Way, Worcester, MA </li><li>Teacher Assistant - Interns will be assigned scheduled workdays in collaboration with classroom instructors and Innovation Career Pathways Assistant Director. </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must be a current Worcester Public Schools student in grades 10-12. </li><li>Must have proven proficiency in at least 1 technical area of Innovation Career Pathways (Advanced Manufacturing, Allied Health, Biotechnology, Business & Marketing, Construction, OR Information Technology) </li><li>Demonstrated reliability, strong communication skills, and willingness to support peers. </li><li>Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in a classroom setting. </li><li>Citizenship, residency, or work visa required. </li></ul> <p>The position pays $15.00 per hour.</p>
