<p>Job Description</p> <p>We are searching for a knowledgeable and dependable MECHANIC to join our team in Kenova, WV. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repair of vehiclein a safe and economical manner.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ol> <li> <p>Ensure all equipment is maintained by Martin policies and procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure all write-ups are repaired daily.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure preventive maintenance is preformed daily.</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate with terminal supervisor, shop foreman, and the safety department.</p> </li><li> <p>Train and cross-train in all areas of shop.</p> </li><li> <p>Complete duties as assigned by the terminal supervisor and/or the shop foreman.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a clean and safe workplace</p> </li></ol> <p>A. PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT:</p> <p>A mechanic will demonstrate professional attitudes and conduct by:</p> <ol> <li>Performing assigned duties in a professional and timely manner in the conduct of business with company personnel, customers, and the general public by adhering to and following policies and procedures in relation to: </li></ol> <p>Appearance and attitude;</p> <p>Good communication, good relations, and courtesy with company personnel, customers, and the general public;</p> <p>Good time management;</p> <p>Company loyalty, pride, and teamwork.</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Set a positive example for employees. Be punctual, and report for duty in a rested and alert, condition.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow company policies, company procedures, Federal, State, and Local rules and regulations and ensure company employees do the same. Make sure all employees operate in a safe manner. Report all unsafe conditions to the safety department, shop foreman, and Terminal Manager. Report all accidents and/or injuries to safety, claims, and the Terminal Manager.</p> </li><li> <p>Look out for the companies' best interest, and run the operation in an economical manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Keep the Terminal Manager and the shop foreman up-to-date on current issues, operations, and employee issues.</p> </li><li> <p>Keep the terminal manager and shop foreman up-to-date on equipment concerns.</p> </li><li> <p>Follow Instructions as set forth by the shop foreman and terminal manager.</p> </li><li> <p>MTI mechanics are not allowed to work on Lease Owner Operators trucks.</p> </li></ol> <p>Job Requirements</p> <p>EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent </li><li>Must be at least 21 years of age </li><li>Three years' work experience as a mechanic. Should have the ability to diagnose mechanical problems and make repairs. Knowledge of standard materials, tools and equipment and skill in the use and care of tools. </li><li>A minimum of 6 months driving experience with tractor trailer with at least 5 axles is required. </li><li>Skilled in the use of hand tools used in the mechanic trade. </li><li>Must be able to read and follow shop manual directions and special written instructions. Be able to read/comprehend written service information. </li><li>Does require Class A CDL </li></ul>
