Our team is growing and expanding, and there has never been a more exciting time to be part of it.</p> <p>THE POSITION: The Product Engineer will facilitate the design and manufacturing of our current and new product lines. As a product engineer, you will be a technical decision maker for the organization and assist with cross department understanding of the feasibility of projects/initiatives. This will include review of non-standard product requests by customers, engineering changes for product cost reduction, and system updates as they pertain to product master data. You will also be required to help design the product manufacturing process to ensure that our products meet industry safety requirements.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Meeting with the development team to discuss and evaluate product offering. </li><li>Analyzing market and industry product trends for product offering changes. </li><li>Evaluate quality/real time customer defect data to drive continuous improvement of product design. </li><li>Create/publish and maintain product specifications to support manufacturing operations. </li><li>Select/qualify product components and maintain Bill of Materials for each product assembly. </li><li>Overseeing production and ensuring that products conform to market specifications and safety regulations. </li><li>Identify and implement cost savings initiatives in assembly and production processes. </li><li>Determining project costs and return on investment for product initiatives. </li><li>Developing design ideas based on customer interests, budgets, and market research. </li><li>Working with internal customer teams to broaden product knowledge across the organization. </li></ul> <p>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a similar technical field. </li><li>Minimum 1-2 years of work experience (manufacturing related experience preferred). </li><li>Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Process improvement/project management skills. </li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge of CAD/CAM software for 3D modeling/analysis. </li><li>Ability to visualize theoretical models and design ideas. </li><li>Must be comfortable working alongside associates within a production facility. </li><li>Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred but not required. </li></ul> <p>WHY WORK AT THE SHADE STORE</p> <p>We set out to create a company culture that is enjoyable and rewarding, where team members can have meaningful impact.
