<p>JobID: 459</p> <p>Category: Operations</p> <p>JobSchedule: Full time</p> <p>Posted Date: 2026-04-30T20:59:36+00:00</p> <p>JobShift:</p> <p>:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Manage the production lines or areas by planning and directing work to assigned crews while ensuring production and quality specifications are being met safely and efficiently</p> </li><li> <p>Additional Duties and tasks as assigned</p> </li><li> <p>Plan and schedule necessary downtime with production departments</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate production issues to Operations Manager and identify areas for improvement</p> </li><li> <p>Manages specific production & maintenance areas as directed by Operations Manager</p> </li><li> <p>Assist the Operations Manager with the development and execution of safety plans</p> </li><li> <p>Performs administrative duties required to meet job goals including planning, scheduling and reporting</p> </li><li> <p>Follow and promote all safety regulations and report any hazardous conditions immediately</p> </li><li> <p>Assist Operations Manager to ensure development and execution of production activities as outlined within the operations plan</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise plant operators and ensure work is completed as assigned, participate in the interview selection process, recommend disciplinary actions and resolve minor employee relations issues. Work to maintain a positive working relationship with the bargaining unit represented plant employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's Degree and/or combination education and on-the-job experience.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 5 years of in similar capacity preferably in mining.</p> </li><li> <p>Knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Leads and directs the work of other employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Limited authority for personnel decisions related to hiring, performance, or disciplinary actions, time is often spent completing the similar tasks as the subordinate employees.</p> </li><li> <p>Prior experience supervising in a manufacturing environment, mining industry preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Experience supervising others in a union environment preferred.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities based on business needs.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong time-management skills to successfully manage a variety of projects and assignments</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborative management style with the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong troubleshooting abilities and ability to use quick judgement to made sound decisions which keep the plant operating.</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent Computer skills: Microsoft office, Outlook, Excel, Kronos.</p> </li><li> <p>Proactive focus on operations management.</p> </li><li> <p>Manufacturing experience preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>U.S. Silica is a leading producer of industrial minerals essential to modern life.
