<p>Description</p> <p>$4,000 - Sign-On Bonus for Full-time externals, pro-rated for Part-time!</p> <p>Medical Office LPN position in the Primary Care department in Lagrangeville, NY</p> <p>40 hours per week, 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday; 8:30AM- 5:00PM Hours Vary</p> <ul> <li>Summary: Performs tasks and responsibilities within the framework of case finding, health teaching, health counseling, and provision of supportive and restorative care under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed health care provider. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Greet patients in waiting area, escort patients to clinical areas; escort patients to check-out </li><li>Answer patient questions with regard to day's appointment, treatments and follow-up </li><li>Telephone call-backs, and telephone care as directed by physician/provider and RN </li><li>Patient counseling and education as directed by provider (verbal, brochures, handouts) </li><li>Focus on patient needs while maintaining an organized and efficient workflow as established by Nuvance Health's policies and standards. Responsible for HPN and NYSIIS immunization registration reprinting and account updates </li><li>Ensure that patients have follow up testing and appointment with physicians. </li><li>Preparation of medical record in advance of appointment. </li><li>Assists patients with the completion of patient summaries, medication/allergy reconciliation at every office visit, history forms, and in obtaining appropriate treatment consents. </li><li>Prepare patient and exam room; chaperone and assist physician/provider with examination, procedures and treatments if needed. </li><li>Administer and document injections, dispense and document medications as directed by physician/provider. </li><li>Labeling and handling of labs, paps, cultures, biopsies and other specimens; Preparation of laboratory and imaging requisitions. </li><li>Assist with coordination of further patient care and follow-up, and carry out tasks as directed by RN and/or physician/provider. This may include communication with patient, hospital, labs, imaging centers, pharmacies, physician offices, insurance plans. </li><li>Clean and prepare exam room for next encounter. </li><li>Performs other duties as required. </li></ul> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of starting. </li><li>Licensed Practical Nurse licensure. </li><li>Basic medical knowledge and terminology. </li><li>Computer skills/data entry. </li><li>Skilled in obtaining accurate patient vitals. </li><li>Vaccine administration and medication preparation. </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum Experience: one year. </li><li>Proficiency in multiple languages. </li><li>Phlebotomy. </li><li>EKG. </li></ul> <p>Education Required:</p> <ul> <li>HS Graduate or Equivalent. </li><li>Graduate of an accredited LPN Program. </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions:</p> <p>Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity</p> <p>Occupational: Some occupational risk</p> <p>Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort.
