<p>General Job Description Summary: The Staff Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the finance and accounting operations of the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proficient in accounting principles and systems. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and post general ledger journal entries, including accruals and adjustments. Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules and depreciation. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce reports as needed. Assist with internal and external audits by providing schedules and documentation. Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure accurate financial reporting. Maintain compliance with company policies and internal controls. Minimum Education None Minimum Years of Experience 2-4 Specific Qualifications Qualifications: Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2-4 years of general accounting experience Public accounting experience or CPA licensure is a plus but not required. Technical Skills: Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc.). Experience with accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks). Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in construction, utilities, or service-based industries. Familiarity with project accounting or cost accounting. Exposure to multi-entity or multi-location accounting. Working Conditions: Standard office environment. May require extended hours during financial reporting periods.
