Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics</p> </li><li> <p>Familiarity with standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office and internet browsers.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bilingual</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in community nutrition, maternal and child health, or public health</p> </li><li> <p>Candidates who do not meet the preferred qualifications are encouraged to apply.</p> </li></ul> <p>Significant Job Functions:</p> <p>Clinical:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Conduct nutritional assessments for program culturally diverse participants, including anthropometric and dietary evaluations.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide nutrition education and counseling to pregnant and breastfeeding people, infants, and children under 5.</p> </li><li> <p>Issue food benefits according to WIC guidelines.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote breastfeeding and provide referrals to lactation support services.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with other healthcare providers and community programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain accurate participant records and documentation.</p> </li></ul> <p>Educational:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Utilize Nutrition ONE platform as well as other nutrition resources for various nutrition lessons</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate nutrition related groups or lectures for our patients or for community-based partners and organizations.</p> </li></ul> <p>Administrative:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Troubleshoot computer problems with Crossroads.</p> </li><li> <p>Accountable for patient flow and client satisfaction of WIC office in absence of WIC Manager</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Effort/ Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Generally sedentary office work. Some manual dexterity for keyboard work and anthropometric measurements. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple levels of distraction. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule Demands:</p> <ul> <li>30 hours per week; one or two evenings required. The Nutritionist is required to ensure proper reporting and customer service. Occasional evening and weekend outreach activities may be required. Must have transportation and be available to attend any in-person training. The Nutritionist must be able to attend State WIC meetings and organizational meetings as needed. </li></ul> <p>Communication Skills:</p> <ul> <li>Requires extensive verbal and written communication with participants, so they understand the information provided.
