ACADEMIC SUPPORT) TEACHER</p> <p>Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School, 7-12, Public Charter School located in South Hadley, MA</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>At PVPA, we want each of our students to be successful in school and to go on to a fulfilling college experience. The Academic Support Department contributes to these goals by:</p> <ul> <li>establishing a positive learning environment </li><li>identifying and implementing services that address each student's individual learning style, strengths and challenges </li><li>fostering feelings of empowerment that help students advocate on their own behalf and assume responsibility for their own learning. </li></ul> <p>PVPA has an opportunity for an Academic Support Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. We are looking for a reflective practitioner who enjoys working with colleagues and loves working with high school students. Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, you will be responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Providing specialized instruction as outlined in student IEPs </li><li>Manage and offer support services based on general academic expectations </li><li>Maintain a quiet, orderly and productive atmosphere and a safe learning environment </li><li>Provide appropriate information and materials for students </li><li>Provide technological support to students as necessary </li><li>Maintain regular contact with parents by phone, meetings or in writing </li><li>Providing consultation and support to classroom teachers regarding accommodations and strategies </li><li>Providing students feedback on classroom teacher academic and social expectations </li><li>Supporting students on specific assignments </li><li>Attending team meetings as necessary </li><li>Writing IEPs </li><li>Producing progress reports quarterly </li><li>Providing testing accommodations for standardized tests </li><li>Keeping accurate attendance records </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>The successful candidate will minimally hold a BA degree, be able to pass a background check (CORI/SORI & Fingerprinting) and be computer literate. Preferred qualifications include:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree </li><li>Certification in Special Education 9-12 or ability to obtain within one year </li></ul> <p>Other Information/Instructions:</p> <p>Salary Range: $43268 to $68719 annually.
