<p>The Vector-borne Disease Diagnostic Laboratory is within the Department of</p> <p>Clinical Sciences (DOCS), administered by the College of Veterinary Medicine at NC State University.</p> <p>The focus of the VBDDL at NCSU-CVM is vector-borne disease research and</p> <p>diagnostics. We strive to identify, characterize, and advance our understanding of vector-borne pathogens for purposes of benefiting animal health and translational research. It is our intention to provide quality answers to diagnostic questions. The assays, antigens and controls used are developed and validated as a component of our research. Eligibility and Employer Sponsored Plans can be found within each of the links offered.</p> <p>Essential Job Duties</p> <p>The Vector-Borne Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (VBDDL) is seeking a dedicated professional to join their team in a dynamic operational role. The University Program Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring that the VBDDL operates at a high level of efficiency.</p> <p>This position serves as a liaison between administrative functions and laboratory operations, focusing on workflow optimization, data integrity, and superior client service. The ideal candidate combines strong project administration capabilities with a working knowledge of vector-borne diseases to support veterinarians, research collaborators, and internal teams.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Oversee and streamline administrative and laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure optimal workflow efficiency. </li><li>Coordinate diagnostic and research activities to align with organizational goals and protocols and make informed operational decisions based on thorough information analysis. </li><li>Manage diagnostic and research databases, ensuring strict data quality and integrity and partner with the Operations Manager to maintain and improve the Laboratory Information System (LIS). </li><li>Assist with administrative financial tasks, including payment processing as required. </li><li>Serve as a primary point of contact for veterinarian clients and research collaborators, offering guidance and troubleshooting support. </li><li>Disseminate scientific advancements and laboratory updates through various channels, including the VBDDL website. </li><li>Facilitate efficient client interactions to maintain high levels of satisfaction and productive professional relationships. </li><li>Apply an understanding of vector-borne diseases to effectively communicate complex scientific information to stakeholders. </li><li>Stay current on VBDDL scientific advancements to ensure accurate information dissemination. </li></ul> <p>Other Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned based on the needs of the organization and evolving priorities. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimum Experience/Education</p> <p>Bachelor's degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience with the following computer and software: Google Drives, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Orchard/UVIS, or other laboratory information systems; </li><li>Experience interacting with veterinarians and scientists utilizing diagnostic services; </li><li>Experience in a vector-borne disease research or veterinary diagnostic testing setting. </li><li>Exceptional communication skills and professional behavior including ability to communicate with others in laboratory and veterinary settings. </li><li>Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others; Must be able to follow biosafety rules. </li></ul> <p>Required License or Certification</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Valid NC Driver's License required No Commercial Driver's License Required?
