These efforts are monitored and assessed regularly to ensure accountability to all stakeholders.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Crisis Paraprofessionals will support the needs of special education students. They will assist teachers with various tasks including instruction, support, reinforcement, and parent outreach.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Distribute and collect workbooks, paper, and other materials for instruction. </li><li>Read to students, listen to students read, and engage in other forms of oral communication with students. </li><li>Work with small groups of students to reinforce materials initially introduced by the teacher. </li><li>Assist individual students who require special attention. </li><li>Operate equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes. </li><li>Assist students in the library, media center, or other locations throughout the school </li><li>Correct objective-type tests and quizzes, and record grades. </li><li>Catalog, file instructional materials, and maintain an inventory of supplies and equipment; prepare orders or requisitions for needed materials. </li><li>Assist the classroom teacher with implementing behavior management programs and plans. </li><li>Perform other related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher and Administrators. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Strong interpersonal and teaching skills. </li><li>Positive attitude toward collaboration, teamwork, and peer coaching </li><li>Commitment to providing equitable education for all students </li><li>A passion for professional development and a spirit of inquiry </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Required certifications: Associate's degree or completion of the ParaPro Exam </li><li>Bilingual skills or a willingness to learn a second language is a plus </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>Lawrence Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive environment for employees and applicants.
