The Katherine Thomas High School is a private special education school that services students with language, learning, sensory motor disabilities, and autism. This is a 12-month position. EOE</p> <p>Come join a supportive team!</p> <p>Annual salary range is $80,000 - $93,000, depending on experience</p> <p>This position is responsible for:</p> <ul> <li>Overseeing the development and the coordination of the IEP/DPG for students grades 9-12 </li><li>Liaising with funding sources and parents, scheduling and participating in formal IEP and related meetings, </li><li>Providing training, monitoring and guidance to staff on developing, writing, implementing, documenting and recording the IEP/DPG </li><li>Serving as a key role by collaborating with Local Education Agency representatives during the IEP process </li><li>Implementing relevant staff development </li></ul> <p>Requirements for the School Support Specialist:</p> <ul> <li>Must have a valid teaching certificate in special education, preferable a master's degree, and 3 years of teaching experience </li><li>Experience with a variety of formal and informal assessment measures and excellent analysis and interpretation skills to assist staff with translating test results into measurable educational goals and objectives </li><li>Outstanding organization and written expression abilities are essential </li><li>Effective interpersonal and communication skills are also necessary </li></ul>
