<p>Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools (HWPS) is located on the south shore of Long Island and is consistently ranked as one of the highest performing Districts on both state and national levels. The District educates close to 2800 Pre-K through 12th grade students across five schools with a budget of $138 million. Hewlett-Woodmere Public Schools is dedicated to providing all students with enriching and exciting educational experiences in caring, student-centered environments. We are seeking a motivated and dedicated School Business Administrator. This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Personnel.Required qualifications: NYSED certification in administration (SDBL/SBA/SDA).Preferred qualifications: Experience in a public school business office or governmental accounting. Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to municipal purchasing and student transportation. Familiarity with integrated school financial management software. Ability to search, understand, and interpret relevant NYS laws, regulations, and procedures. Understanding of school district state and federal fiscal record keeping, reporting, and fund accounting which includes knowledge of special aid, capital, extra classroom, and cafeteria accounting.Effective Date: On or about November 1, 2024Key responsibilities:Supervision of the Business Office and Transportation DepartmentsPurchasing Agent - responsible for the compliant purchase of all goods and servicesPrepares, issues and analyzes bids and Requests for ProposalsAssists in the development of the annual budgetPrepares transportation contracts and required reportingAdministers to Health & Welfare Services provided to non-public schoolsServe as Faculty Auditor for Extra Classroom Activity Fund, prepares quarterly and annual reportingResponsible for preparing reporting: Every Student Succeeds Act, Universal Pre-Kindergarten Grants, Medicaid Cost Report, State Aid filings, and other ad hoc and required reportingPrepares reimbursement claims for services provided to non-resident public and non-public school studentsEstablishes and maintains internal controls related to all business operationsManagement of daily transportation operations, including coverage for the Bus Dispatcher when absentSupport District Clerk with preparation of annual budget voteServe as Record Management OfficerAbility to analyze data and perform long-term financial planningAdministrative liaison for the Board Long Range Transportation Committee, participates on the Board Audit Committee and a member of the District Leadership TeamWillingness to attend professional development workshopsAll other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Personnel</p> <p>OLAS is an online job application system for K-12 Education.
