<p>Position DetailsReq IDreq1983Job Title MANUFACTURING ENGINEER SRDivision RepairShiftFirst ShiftJob SummaryJob Summary</p> <p>Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories and concepts and industry standards and practices to the planning, directing and coordination of manufacturing processes.</p> <p>Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>ingenuity to modify procedures standards related to planning, scheduling and manufacturing engineering fields. Work is accomplished under general direction and completed work is reviewed for results. </li><li>Supports production with process improvement activities, improved hand, jig and fixture tooling, process improvement and reduction of paperwork requirements. Functions as the manufacturing project manager for all assigned areas and provides technical leadership to others as required. </li><li>Participates in the lean rapid improvement events and makes individual contributions to lean manufacturing efforts focusing on reducing time and material waste from the processes. Follows up on assigned actions. </li><li>Reviews and evaluates special product requests from customer for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications. Coordinates the design to meet customer requirements and discusses proposal with customer representatives, engineers, and other personnel. </li><li>Confers with management in planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. May provide tooling specifications and designs as required. </li><li>Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. </li><li>Estimates production time, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. </li><li>Recommends methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment. </li></ul> <p>Performs other duties as required. In an appropriate discipline.</p> <p>If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.</p> <p>Experience Requirements</p> <p>6 year(s) Related experience and/or training.</p> <p>Skills and Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Must be able to read and write the English language, perform basic mathematical calculations and learn to interpret and comprehend company policies, procedures, safety instructions, and other like documents used in an aerospace manufacturing environment. </li><li>Operates standard office equipment and demonstrates competence in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. </li><li>Makes telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and makes formal presentations to small or large groups. </li><li>May perform work of lesser skilled employees. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Work RequirementsPhysical RequirementsPhysical Requirements</p> <p>Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required.
