FMU Police Officers patrol campus and the surrounding community to make them safer, work with students/faculty/staff/visitors to solve problems, conduct educational and community meetings, mediate disputes, investigate traffic collisions, investigate crimes, make arrests, and provide general police services.</p> <p>State Requirements: A high school diploma and certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with § 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.FM Preferences: High school graduate. The applicant should have an aspiration for personal growth, professional development, and the desire to be a member of a team that maintains a safe campus community. Required to participate and successfully complete the SC Criminal Justice Academy training if not currently a Class 1 police officer. Required to receive and maintain a SLED Group 1 Constable Commission.
