<p>What you'll do at OhioMHAS:</p> <p>Psychiatrists at the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services are professionals working together to ensure caring and humane treatment for Ohioans with mental health disorders. Specifically, they would:</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate, examine, analyze, diagnose & treat patients; prescribe medication </li><li>Coordinate Treatment Team meetings & provide clinical direction to Treatment Team staff in development of Individual Treatment Plans (ITP) for assigned patients; perform mental & physical examinations of patients </li><li>Administer & monitor psycho-pharmacological, psychotherapeutic & other related treatments for each patient, provide individual & group treatment; monitor the medical condition of each patient & seeks consultation, referral, or transfer as necessary or as directed to maintain the medical well-being of the patient </li><li>Collaborate with outside psychiatrists and other clinicians to assure coordination of care & continuity to community setting </li><li>Complete & maintain proper documentation of activities/treatment to assure compliance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (TJC), & Medicare, Medicaid, Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) & hospital policies, regulations, & directives </li><li>Give direction to professional/paraprofessional, nursing & direct care staff in areas related to psychiatric care of patients </li></ul> <p>In this role, the psychiatrist would contribute to improving patient outcomes and supporting OhioMHAS's mission to provide innovative, evidence-based care and services.</p> <p>This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of # P1 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours 8am - 4:30 pm, hours may vary. This position is located within our Appalachian Behavioral Healthcare Campus at 100 Hospital Drive, Athens, Ohio 45701.</p> <p>Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and performance based thereafter.</p> <p>Additional Salary / Appointment Information:</p> <ul> <li>Flexible weekday schedule </li><li>Collegial work environment where learning is encouraged </li><li>GENEROUS recruitment/retention supplements available </li><li>Starting hourly rate based on Board Eligibility or Board Certifications </li><li>Voluntary on-duty coverage [after hours] opportunities at 80% of total hourly rate </li><li>Physician loan repayment program [up to$30k per year] </li><li>Up to 160 hours of vacation advancement upon hire </li><li>Health benefits trade-off monthly lump sum supplement available </li><li>Free malpractice insurance </li><li>Must be able to complete a 4 week (business days Monday-Friday) full time orientation </li><li>May work weekends and holidays; may be exposed to communicable diseases and unpredictable patient behavior </li><li>Training and development required to remain in the classification after employment </li></ul> <p>Required Educational Transcripts</p> <p>Official transcripts are required for all post-secondary education, coursework, or degrees listed on the application.
