This unit provides services to plan, manage, and oversee the business operations side for all technology projects and systems; provides representation and advocacy of CPW's business needs and goals; coordinates with CPW staff and OIT, Vendor and partner staff in the management of the agency's technology applications, technology support contracts, business data analysis; develops and tracks CPW's specific technical project expenses to remain within budget as assigned; and ensures accuracy of invoiced services and good, coordination and support. These services are essential to CPW's mission in managing Colorado's wildlife and outdoor recreation resources now and in the future.</p> <p>The Business Technical Product owner is a professional who makes use of their technical knowledge to bridge the gap between the business and technical aspects of IT systems. The Business Technical Product owner will serve as the technical expert for CPW for the sales system (IPAWS), hunt draw system, and the data replica for these systems. This position will carry technical information into the discussions about strategic aspects of the product, understanding the features and capabilities of the systems as well as having an understanding of the business processes and ecosystem. The position will bridge the business and IT Development gap, who can communicate with both parties but comprehending requirements (business or technical), explain technical terms to the business and business needs to the IT developers. The position will have an unique mix of soft and technical product owner skills including project management, tech expertise, communication, problem solving, decision making, analytical capabilities.</p> <p>Specific job duties include but are not limited to:</p> <p>Business Technical Expert on Hunt Draw, Ipaws, CPW Rep</p> <p>Acting as the senior authority or lead for the Business Operations Unit on the sales (IPAWS), Hunt Draw, and data replica (CPW REP) systems for the agency. Create, gather, and maintain documentation on system architecture, business processes, interfaces, and other pertinent system artifacts. Understand the business flows for major sales processes, registrations, reservations, licensing as well as the process for the hunt draws for each species. Comprehend the architecture and design of the different IT systems in order to understand capabilities and limitations.Attend regular meetings throughout the year with business and partner teams. Actively participate in meetings and discussions. Create and/or gather documentation for current and future processes and system architecture. Maintain and ensure current documentation is accurate. Key mover in updating and changing the IT systems supporting these business processes to modernize technology, simplify processes allowing for better application design and maintenance, and ensuring sustainability of critical systems.</p> <p>Business technical advisor</p> <p>Will be the technical advisor for CPW and the business units during any system design or modification, working with the IT partners. Participating in all technical discussions of the systems, understanding the software development lifecycle and agile development processes. Helping and advising business product stakeholders with important technical decisions Understanding and even helping in sprint planning and resolving technical doubts. Enhancing the efficiency of the team by determining how complex systems share data. Assist stakeholders in determining and managing technical user stories. Provide suggestions for continuous product improvement. Provide consulting on other projects outside of the Hunt Draw, Ipaws, CPW Rep as needed. Expected to be point of contact if there are system outages, both planned and unplanned in a call-back situation. </p> <p>Business Liaison</p> <p>Will be the business side technical expert of the system and work closely with vendors and partners in times of crisis, outages, and major issues from discovery to resolution. Will coordinate with various teams to produce after action reports and create plans to mitigate future similar issues. Will also assist with vendors, partners and CPW in issue tracking and prioritization. Act as the CPW point person on any high priority incidents, outages, or major issues with vendors and partners. Organize communications across all parties to ensure stakeholders are up to date.
