As part of a top national public research institution, Michigan Engineering's mission is to provide scientific and technological leadership to the people of the world, develop intellectually curious and socially conscious minds, create collaborative solutions to societal problems, and promote an inclusive and innovative community of service for the common good.</p> <p>Responsibilities*</p> <ul> <li>Organizing, inventorying, and documenting lab equipment, chemicals, and consumables. </li><li>Take on role of lab safety officer under Sr. Research Specialist and PI supervision. </li><li>Archiving, inventorying, and organizing current and past project documentation such as lab notebooks, relevant research literature, and digital data files. </li><li>Perform routine lab procedures, operate lab equipment, and record test data. </li><li>Write and develop SOP's with clear and detailed instructions. </li><li>Documentation of work via regular summaries, and written or digital lab notebook </li><li>Work may include human cell culture, setting up cell culture equipment, calibration and maintenance of lab equipment, 3D printing, and fixture design. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, biological sciences, or physics </li><li>Attention to detail </li><li>Past exposure to/experience with biomedical or biophotonics research </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications*</p> <ul> <li>Experience in some or all areas below is highly desirable: </li><li>Biophotonics research that may include work on prototyping/designing laser or LED fiber optic light systems and light detectors for pre-clinical application </li><li>Cell culture experience </li><li>Experience with GMP or GLP processes and Quality Systems </li><li>3D image-based design experience using Materialise software or Solidworks (or similar software) </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule</p> <ul> <li>Hours: 30 to 40 hours/week </li></ul> <p>Work Locations</p> <ul> <li>On-site in Lurie Biomedical Engineering Building, 1101 Beal Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI </li></ul> <p>Modes of Work</p> <p>Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
