Responsibilities Under the general supervision of the Utilization Management Director, provides initial review for elective, urgent and emergent admissions including admission from UF physician offices. Ensures assignment of appropriate level of care and authorization for payment for services, and maintains an active and effective utilization management program. All duties are performed in accordance with the utilization review (UR) plan, Federal and State guidelines, as well as The Joint Commission standards. Qualifications Education · Bachelor's degree preferred Licensure/Certification/Registration o Registered Nurse (RN) with current Florida license Special Skills/Qualifications/Additional Training/Experience Required o Two years of experience performing utilization review in a hospital setting, for a third party payer or other review agency or organization. o Knowledge of diagnostic related groups (DRGs), Federal and State guidelines, commercial and other payer groups and ICD- 10-CM coding preferred. o Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. o Ability to type and use a computer required. o Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English</p>
