EMT's and Paramedics must be capable of functioning with authority and good judgment in a variety of circumstances under difficult and stressful conditions, and must be caring persons with the desire to help others.</p> <p>The Emergency Medical Services program is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face at our downtown Dayton campus. This position description does not represent in any way a contract of employment. </li></ul> <p>Principal Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li>Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department </li><li>Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning </li><li>Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies </li><li>Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate </li><li>Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needs </li><li>Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success </li><li>Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning </li><li>Maintain accurate records of student progress </li><li>Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines </li><li>Maintain confidentiality of student information </li><li>Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Must be a licensed Ohio Paramedic required </li><li>Must be Ohio licensed Fire and Emergency Services Instructor I or II </li><li>AHA ACLS Instructor preferred </li><li>AHA CPR Instructor preferred </li><li>Must have at least 2 years of paramedic level patient care experience required </li><li>Evidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferred </li><li>Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level </li><li>Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills with the capacity to work successfully in a culturally diverse college community </li><li>Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction </li></ul> <p>Official transcripts for all post-secondary degrees (if applicable) and successful completion of a background check will be required prior to date of hire.</p> <p>Supplemental Questions</p> <p>Required fields are indicated with an asterisk (*).</p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Do you have previous experience teaching emergency medicine and training EMS providers? </li></ul> </li><li> <p>Yes</p> </li><li> <p>No</p> </li><li> <ul> <li>Do you meet the education requirements for the position as listed in the job posting? </li></ul> </li><li> <p>Yes</p> </li><li> <p>No</p> </li><li> <ul> <li>Do you meet the work experience requirements of this position as described? </li></ul> </li><li> <p>Yes</p> </li><li> <p>No</p> </li></ul> <p>Applicant Documents</p> <p>Required Documents</p> <ul> <li>Resume </li><li>Cover Letter </li></ul> <p>Optional Documents</p> <ul> <li>Other </li><li>Letter of Recommendation (1) </li><li>Bachelor's Transcript </li><li>Master's Transcript </li><li>Teaching Philosophy </li><li>Associate's Transcript </li></ul>
