If you're ready to drive change and make history, apply now!</p> <p>What you'll do</p> <p>We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Hazardous Material Officer to join our Logistics team. This critical role will serve as the primary liaison between the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) department and Logistics, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials across all logistics operations.</p> <p>Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:</p> <ul> <li>Act as the central point of contact between EHS and Logistics for all hazardous material-related matters, including transportation, storage, and regulatory compliance. </li><li>Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., DOT, EPA, OSHA, IATA, IMDG) regarding the transportation and storage of hazardous materials. </li><li>Develop, implement, and maintain hazardous materials handling procedures and documentation, supporting EHS management systems and compliance tracking tools. </li><li>Coordinate with EHS to conduct risk assessments and audits related to hazardous materials in logistics operations. </li><li>Provide training and guidance to logistics personnel on hazardous material handling, labeling, packaging, and emergency response procedures. </li><li>Partner with EHS to extend hazardous materials awareness training to non-logistics employees with functions related to hazardous materials management. </li><li>Maintain accurate records of hazardous material inventories, shipments, and incident reports. </li><li>Material Flow Planning. </li><li>Support the development of logistics plans that incorporate hazardous material considerations, including routing, packaging, security and contingency planning. </li><li>Collaborate with third-party logistics providers and carriers to ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations, including waste management. </li><li>Participate in incident investigations and corrective action planning related to hazardous material events. </li></ul> <p>Location & Travel Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. </li><li>The role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina. </li><li>Applicants should expect the role to require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on the company's behalf from time to time. </li></ul> <p>What you'll bring</p> <p>We expect all Scout employees to have integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and strive to exhibit a positive attitude, as well as a growth mindset. Here's what else you'll bring:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field. </li><li>Minimum of 8 years of experience in hazardous materials management within a logistics or supply chain environment. </li><li>Certification in hazardous materials handling (e.g., HAZMAT, HAZWOPER) required. </li><li>Strong knowledge of hazardous material regulations and compliance standards (DOT, IATA, IMDG, OSHA, EPA, ISO, VDA). </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with cross-functional teams. </li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. </li><li>Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Attributes:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment. </li><li>Familiarity with sustainability and environmental compliance initiatives. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. </li></ul> <p>What you'll gain</p> <p>The benefits of joining Scout include the chance to build products and a company from the ground up. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience.
