<p>Job Summary:</p> <p>Reporting to the Department Head of Humanities, Music, and General Studies, the FT Ethics and Religion Faculty is</p> <p>responsible for teaching a variety of introductory and upper-level undergraduate Ethics and Religions courses.</p> <p>Teaching flexibility is highly desired.</p> <p>Essential Job Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Teaching all levels of undergraduate Ethics and Religion courses. (Teaching load is up to 15 credit hours per </li></ul> <p>semester; may have release time to conduct research or other duties.)</p> <ul> <li>Complete yearly Professional Development courses as defined by the school. </li><li>Ability to use technology in the classroom as well as teaching online courses as needed. </li><li>Advising students (when applicable). </li><li>Effectively managing the classroom environment. </li><li>Developing, maintaining, and submitting accurate, timely and complete records (attendance, assignments, </li></ul> <p>grades, end of course reports, etc.).</p> <ul> <li>Participating in course and curriculum development, mentoring part-time faculty and students, as well as </li></ul> <p>providing service to the School and the University as assigned.</p> <ul> <li>Managing and supervising student-interns (when applicable). </li><li>Serving the School, the University, and the profession and community as appropriate. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. Note: This job description is not intended to provide all duties that may be required </li></ul> <p>of the position, as other duties may be required of this position.</p> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>None</p> <p>Job Qualifications</p> <p>Required Education and/or Experience</p> <ul> <li>Earned Master's Degree in Ethics/Philosophy and Religion, or a Ph.D. in Ethics/Philosophy and Religion or related </li></ul> <p>field (with at least 18 credit hours of Ethics/Philosophy and Religion related classes). Degree must be from an</p> <p>accredited institution of higher learning.</p> <ul> <li>Graduate level coursework must include Ethics and Religion courses. </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Teaching experience at the university level preferred. </li><li>Strong organizational skills. </li><li>Demonstrated understanding and strong commitment to cultural diversity. </li><li>Experience with publishing and/or presenting research preferred. </li></ul> <p>Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations</p> <p>Must possess the minimum credential standards of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on</p> <p>Colleges (SACSCOC), which normally includes at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in the subject area or</p> <p>suitable approved justifications.</p> <p>Other Competencies (skills, abilities, behavior)</p> <ul> <li>Must have a philosophy that is consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of the organization.
