<p>This is a Nashville Public Library civil service position. The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and executing outreach initiatives for the Bordeaux Cluster and promoting library services, programs, and resources to diverse community groups. This position also provides direct public services at the service desk, assisting patrons with information and technology services. The ideal candidate is passionate about community engagement, has strong public service skills, and enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds. If you have a passion for helping people, love books and learning, and desire to be part of a team that does transformative work every day, then NPL just might be the place for you.</p> <ul> <li>Collaborates with manager and staff to establish outreach goals for the cluster. </li><li>Coordinates with manager and staff to plan and develop outreach events, programs, and services to meet the needs of the community. </li><li>Assists and provides library staff with outreach, programs, library services, and marketing within the cluster for any age group. </li><li>Builds a community contact network for the cluster and establishes a process to maintain this information. </li><li>Creates and maintains outreach kit prototype and outreach material, including best practices for cluster. </li><li>Provides a consistent, immersive, presence within the community as a representative of the library. </li><li>Creates and administers surveys or uses other assessment tools to determine community needs and interests. </li><li>Keeps and reports metrics reflecting outreach program activities. </li><li>Works nights and weekends. </li><li>Travels to locations to promote library. </li><li>Provides basic reference and reader's advisory service to the public at service desks and out of branch. </li><li>Assists the public with the use of library materials and equipment. </li><li>Serves as (PIC) Person in Charge in absence of the Manager. </li><li>Attends festivals, community events, and local organizations. </li><li>Conducts library tours to schools and community groups. </li><li>Regularly promotes community awareness of the program(s) and services provided by the library. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of experience in program administration.</p> <p> *No Substitution</p> <p>LICENSE REQUIRED:</p> <p>A Valid Driver License may be required.</p> <p>Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.</p> <p>Note: Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078.
