This position supervises and supports other Deputy Attorney Generals and a Paralegal assigned to the Department of Finance. Duties include providing advice and counsel to the Director of the Department and other staff regarding federal and state law related to the Department's mission: Safeguarding the financial health of Idahoans through the appropriate oversight of diverse financial institutions, the education and protection of consumers, and by fostering sensible innovation in the financial services market.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <p>This position will ensure that the three substantive bureaus of the Department (Consumer Finance, Financial Institutions, and Securities), receive competent and effective legal services, and provide advice to the Director and Supporting Services Bureau when necessary. Duties may include legislative analysis, administrative rule drafting and analysis, contested administrative actions, appeals, review of policies, advising on public records law, litigation, contract review and drafting, and other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Admission to the Idaho State Bar and a member in good standing. </li><li>Minimum five years of relevant legal and technical work experience or coursework. </li><li>Supervisory experience. </li><li>Strong research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to manage sensitive and confidential data in a professional and ethical manner. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. </li></ul> <p>Benefits: State employee benefits include low-cost health and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, 11 paid holidays, multiple retirement savings plans, flexible spending accounts, paid parental leave, and one of the nations' best state retirement systems (PERSI).
