<p>Staff Internal Auditor</p> <p>Full Time</p> <p>Norwalk, CT</p> <p>About the Company:</p> <p>Wilton Re is an industry leader in the life (re)insurance space, specializing in the acquisition of in force life insurance and annuities. We provide our clients with the services they need from in force transactions and product development to underwriting and new business strategies.</p> <p>Wilton Re has the resources and expertise to pursue and successfully manage the largest life and annuity transactions in the market.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>We are seeking a Staff Internal Auditor with a minimum of 2 years of audit experience to join our Internal Audit team. This role will be responsible for executing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) / Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) testing as well as conducting risk-based operational audits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of internal controls, risk management, and audit methodologies within the financial services or (re)insurance industry.</p> <p>Role Responsibilities:</p> <p>Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR):</p> <ul> <li>Execute SOX/ICFR testing, including walkthroughs, control assessments, and testing of key controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. </li><li>Facilitate annual process of reviewing and updating internal controls with Wilton Re management and co-sourced testing partners </li></ul> <p>Operational Audits:</p> <ul> <li>Perform risk-based operational audits to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and internal controls. </li><li>Identify and communicate audit findings, providing actionable recommendations to improve controls and mitigate risks. </li><li>Assist in the development of audit programs, testing strategies, and documentation of audit results. </li></ul> <p>Promoting Risk Culture:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with business units to ensure understanding and implementation of internal control requirements. </li><li>Monitor and follow up on audit findings to ensure timely remediation. </li><li>Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes impacting the insurance and reinsurance industry. </li><li>Preparation of reporting and analysis of audit findings for senior management and audit committee reporting </li><li>Interaction with external audit to provide controls-related support to the annual financial statement audit & external control opinions </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 2 years of external or internal audit experience in life insurance, life re-insurance, or financial services. </li><li>Knowledge of SOX/ICFR and risk-based auditing methodologies (e.g., COSO) </li><li>Knowledge of STAT and GAAP accounting a plus </li><li>Experience with internal controls testing and operational audits. </li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. </li><li>Experience working with data analytics tools (e.g., ACL, IDEA, Alteryx, etc) or data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a plus </li></ul> <p>Required Education / Certifications:</p> <p>Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field</p> <p>Professional certification (or working toward) such as CPA, CIA, or CISA is a plus</p> <p>Pay/Location</p> <p>Norwalk, CT</p> <p>Hybrid Structure</p> <p>Minimal but some travel required (10%)</p> <p>Base salary/hourly rate range for this position in Connecticut is between $65,000 and $ 90,000 Please note that specific compensation decisions are based upon a variety of job-related factors as permitted by law, including geographic location, credentials, skills, education, training, and experience.</p> <p>Base salary is just one component of Wilton Re's total compensation package for employees. Additional compensation includes annual performance-based bonus, 401K with employer contribution, and profit-sharing program. Employee may also be eligible for long-term incentives.
