<p>Hourly:</p> <p>$18.50 - $18.50</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Executive, Health & Welfare</p> <p>Division:</p> <p>Mayor's Office of Children, Youth & Family</p> <p>FLSA:</p> <p>Non-Exempt</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Summer Seasonal Position</p> <p>Applicant must be a current college student.</p> <p>This role will support programing that engages participants as they learn about the natural world.</p> <p>Examples of Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Assists with all aspects of the Nuts About Nature Summer Camp, including, arts and crafts, lesson plans, and field trips. </li><li>Supports the planning and implementation of various environmental education activities and programs. </li><li>Work with live animals including reptiles and sea life. </li><li>Arranges facilities and equipment for scheduled recreation activities. </li><li>Assists with answering questions and communicating with the general public. </li><li>Notifies participants of activity schedules and registration requirements. Monitors participants to ensure orderly conduct. </li><li>Receives, stores, and issues equipment and supplies. </li><li>Keeps attendance records and monitors activities of participants. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Basic Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Available to work 20 hours per week for 8 weeks (June - July 2025). </li><li>Current college student pursuing bachelor's or master's degree. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Studying biology, marine sciences, ecology, or related subjects. </li></ul> <p>The Summer Youth Employment Program offers selected youth paid workshops on financial empowerment to help participants gain skills in banking, budgeting, saving, and credit.
