<p>An Maintenance/Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for shift coverage and therefore must possess strong trouble-shooting skills in all areas of maintenance in guest rooms, meeting space, and front of the house areas, as well as back of house areas including kitchen, laundry, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems, using a windows based computer system. Ability to read blue prints and schematics is also required. A minimum of 5-years building maintenance experience is required, with hotel experience preferred. A strong working knowledge of all major building systems, including life-safety systems, is required for this position. Good communication skills are necessary. Additionally, this position requires strong leadership skills, and a willingness to work different shifts as the demands of business dictates.</p> <p>Click here to spend a 'day in the life' of a hospitality professional at a full-service hotel via our virtual reality experience.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College Degree preferred </li><li>Six (6) months related experience in hospitality or service industry </li><li>1 year of maintenance experience </li><li>Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace </li><li>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals </li><li>Ability to write routine reports and correspondence </li></ul> <p>Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and /or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the employee will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently with or without reasonable accommodation.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Communicates with Front Desk staff, Maintenance, /Manager, and/or the General Manager regarding grounds related problems or issues that need immediate attention </li><li>Performs daily inspection of property for maintenance issues </li><li>Cleans and maintains all exterior landscape lighting </li><li>Performs necessary room touch-ups and repairs - including furniture, fixtures, basic electrical, basic plumbing and HVAC system repair </li><li>Assists Manager in ensuring the property passes all city, safety, and ADA codes </li><li>Performs all regularly scheduled maintenance operations (filters, paint, updates, furniture change-out, etc.) </li><li>Maintains all equipment/tools; report condition of all equipment/tools and notifies Manager when broken, lost, etc. </li><li>Maintains organization and cleanliness of storage areas </li><li>Communicates with Housekeeping staff regarding room cleanliness/condition </li><li>Responsible for the maintenance of company vehicles under direction of Manager </li><li>Assists other staff when needed </li><li>Adheres to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, training material, memos and verbal instruction </li></ul> <p>Based upon fluctuating demands of the operation and in order to exceed expectations, it may be necessary to perform a multitude of different functions not specifically related to this position. This person may be expected to perform other tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Furthermore, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and revision.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate</p> </li><li> <p>The person in this position may have to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on a daily basis; anything over fifty (50) pounds is considered a minimum two (2) person lift</p> </li><li> <p>The person having this position may have to sit for one (1) hour, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day</p> </li></ol>
