<ol> <li>Position Summary </li></ol> <p>Hocking College invites qualified and passionate educators to apply for a part-time Instructor</p> <p>position in Introduction to Ethics. This course is part of the Associate of Arts curriculum and</p> <p>fulfills the Humanities requirement under Ohio Transfer 36. The successful candidate will</p> <p>demonstrate excellence in teaching, a student-centered approach, and a commitment to</p> <p>fostering ethical inquiry and critical thinking in a face-to-face classroom environment.</p> <ol start="2"> <li>Duties and Responsibilities </li></ol> <p>Provide face-to-face instruction for Introduction to Ethics on the Nelsonville</p> <p>campus, using engaging, student-centered teaching methods.</p> <p>Develop, deliver, and regularly update course content to align with program</p> <p>outcomes and current ethical scholarship.</p> <p>Create and assess assignments and exams that encourage critical thinking,</p> <p>ethical analysis, and academic integrity.</p> <p>Clearly communicate course objectives, expectations, and policies; maintain</p> <p>accurate records of student performance, attendance, and grades.</p> <p>Maintain weekly office hours and support students through timely feedback and</p> <p>academic guidance.</p> <p>Contribute to departmental initiatives, curriculum development, and program</p> <p>assessment activities.</p> <p>Participate in required faculty meetings, training sessions, and instructional</p> <p>evaluations.</p> <p>Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment while collaborating</p> <p>with colleagues to support the mission of the college.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills </li></ol> <p>Master's degree in philosophy or a related field required must include at least 18 graduate</p> <p>credit hours in ethics or a closely aligned discipline. Degree must be from a regionally or</p> <p>nationally accredited institution.</p> <p>College-level teaching experience preferred; evidence of ongoing professional development</p> <p>(e.g., associations, seminars, research) strongly encouraged.</p> <p>Demonstrated expertise in the subject area, along with knowledge of educational theory,</p> <p>learner diversity, and student-centered teaching strategies.</p> <p>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a caring, student-focused approach in a</p> <p>diverse, open-access learning environment.</p> <p>Proficiency with educational technologies including email, learning management systems,</p> <p>and student information systems.</p> <p>Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.</p> <p>Committed to confidentiality, collaboration, adaptability, and continuous improvement in</p> <p>support of student learning and institutional goals.</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be requested and reviewed according to the Americans with</p> <p>Disabilities Act (ADA).</p>
